# Understanding Suppression in Transactional Emails

Transactional suppression in Kasplo ensures that critical system-triggered emails (sent via SMTP or API) are delivered only to valid and safe recipients. By automatically filtering out risky email addresses before sending, suppression protects your domain reputation and improves overall deliverability.

All suppressed email records are logged in the Transactional dashboard, giving you full visibility and control.

### Why Transactional Suppression Matters

Transactional emails often include important communications like OTPs, invoices, and alerts. Sending these emails to invalid or risky addresses can harm your sender reputation.

With suppression enabled, you get:

* Cleaner email lists
* Fewer bounces and complaints
* Improved inbox placement
* Stronger sender trust over time

### **What Is Transactional Suppression?**

Transactional suppression is the automatic process of blocking emails from being sent to recipients who may negatively impact deliverability.

Kasplo identifies and suppresses such recipients based on multiple risk conditions.

### Suppression Conditions

#### Hard Bounce

* Email addresses that are permanently invalid or do not exist
* Examples: fake domains, incorrect email formats
* These are immediately added to the suppression list

#### Soft Bounce

* Temporary delivery issues such as:
  * Mailbox full
  * Server downtime
* If repeated soft bounces occur, the address may be suppressed.

#### Spam Complaints

* When recipients mark your email as spam.
* These users are automatically suppressed to protect your domain reputation.

#### Unsubscribed Users

* Users who have opted out of receiving emails.
* If suppression is enabled for transactional control, emails to these users are blocked

####  Manually Deactivated / Invalid Users

* Email IDs flagged by admins or system rules.
* Includes:
  * Fake or malformed addresses
  * Internally deactivated users

### How Suppression Works

Every transactional email sent via SMTP or API goes through a validation check:

1. The system checks the recipient against the suppression list.
2. If the email exists in the list:
   * The email is blocked instantly
   * No delivery attempt is made
3. The event is recorded as “Suppressed” in the Transactional Dashboard.
4. No bounce is generated.

This process ensures your sender reputation remains protected.

###  Where to Find and Manage Suppression

Follow these steps to access and manage suppression in Kasplo:

#### Step 1: Login

* Log in to your Kasplo account.

* From the left-hand menu, click Transactional.

#### Step 3: Suppression Tab

* Open the Suppression tab.
* View all suppressed email addresses.
* Add or import email IDs manually.
* Manage suppression entries.
* Export the suppression list for backup, reporting, or analysis purposes.
