# Suppression Mode

## Understanding Suppression Mode in Kasplo

Kasplo offers flexible suppression settings to control how unsubscribes are handled across your account. These settings ensure compliance, improve sender reputation, and provide a smooth opt-out experience for your contacts.

***

### 🔒 Current Mode: **Global Suppression (Recommended)**

When **Global Suppression** is enabled:

* All **email unsubscribes**, **hard bounces**, **spam complaints**, and **manual suppressions** are applied **account-wide**
* A contact unsubscribed from one list will be **suppressed from all email sends**, regardless of the list
* This is the **default and recommended setting** for better compliance and safety

***

### 🔁 Suppression Mode Toggles

#### 1. **Switch to List-Wise Suppression?**

* Unsubscribes apply **only to the list** the email was sent from
* **Only applies** when sending to a **single list**
* If sending to **multiple lists**, Global Suppression still applies
* **Only user-initiated unsubscribes** (via unsubscribe link) are honored at the list level
* Manual suppressions, spam complaints, and bounces still apply globally
* Only affects the **Email** channel

> ⚠️ **Warning:** Switching to list-wise suppression may result in sending emails to users who previously unsubscribed via other lists.

**Confirmation Prompt:**

**Are you sure you want to switch?**

> This setting changes how unsubscribes are handled across your lists and may affect future sends.

***

#### 2. **Enable Cross-Channel Suppression?**

* If a contact unsubscribes from **Email**, they are also unsubscribed from **SMS and WhatsApp**, and vice versa
* Ensures a **unified opt-out experience** across all channels
* Applies only to **user-initiated unsubscribes** (not manual suppression or complaints)

**Requirements:**

* Global Suppression must be **enabled**
* Applies only to **contact-driven actions** (unsubscribe links or keywords)

> ⚠️ Example: A user unsubscribes from a promotional email → they will also stop receiving SMS and WhatsApp messages.

***

### ✅ Best Practices

* Keep Global Suppression **enabled** unless you have a specific list-level use case
* Use Cross-Channel Suppression if you want to provide users a unified opt-out experience
* Regularly audit your suppression settings before running large campaigns
