# Understanding Email Verification Statuses

When you verify a contact list using Kasplo’s **Email Verification Tool**, every email address is classified into a status based on how safe it is to send emails to that address. This classification helps you maintain **high deliverability**, **low bounce rates**, and a **healthy domain/IP reputation**.

Below are the possible verification categories and what each status means:

### **1. Good**

The email address is fully verified and safe to send to. It exists, the mailbox is active, and the domain is responsive.

#### How It Helps:

* These addresses are reliable and result in successful email delivery.
* Sending to them keeps bounce rates low and improves sender reputation.
* You can use these for all campaign types marketing, transactional, or automation.

> **Recommended Action:** Safe to send. Include in all campaigns.

***

### **2. Bad**

The email address is invalid or non-existent. It may have a typo, the domain may not resolve, or the mailbox could be deleted.

#### How It Helps:

* Filtering these out prevents hard bounces.
* Protects your domain and IP reputation.
* Keeps your overall campaign performance metrics clean.

> **Recommended Action:** Do not send. Remove from your list.

***

### **3. Unverified**

Kasplo couldn’t verify this email due to a technical limitation or policy set by the recipient server (e.g., refusing validation).

#### How It Helps:

* Provides insight into emails that need to be re-evaluated or verified through other means.
* Allows you to isolate uncertain addresses before important sends.

> **Recommended Action:** Recheck after some time or verify manually. Use only if absolutely necessary.

***

### **4. Unknown**

The status of the email couldn’t be determined. This often happens due to greylisting by recipient servers or when they purposely avoid verification responses.

#### How It Helps:

* Alerts you to addresses that may deliver but with uncertainty.
* Prevents accidental inclusion of risky contacts in high-stakes campaigns.

> **Recommended Action:** Use with caution. Consider re-verifying later or excluding from critical campaigns.

***

### **5. Timeout**

The verification process timed out due to network latency or the email server not responding within an acceptable period.

#### How It Helps:

* Identifies emails that need a retry.
* Helps you distinguish between temporary issues and permanent ones.

> **Recommended Action:** Attempt verification again. Avoid sending until successfully verified.

***

### **6. Greylisted**

These are emails from domains that accept all emails but don’t confirm deliverability during verification. They could also be catch-all domains or have uncertain behavior.

#### How It Helps:

* Highlights contacts that might bounce or lower engagement.
* Enables cautious sending strategies when dealing with high volumes.

> **Recommended Action:** Send cautiously. Prefer segmenting into test sends or lower-volume batches.

***

### **7. Skipped**

Emails that were not processed due to internal errors or billing-related issues.

#### How It Helps:

* Indicates which emails were excluded from the verification attempt.
* Helps you track and reprocess missed entries.

> **Recommended Action:** Re-upload and verify after addressing any issues.
